Hey CrossFit Tustin! Workout 16.3 is in officially the books and we are looking forward to the 16.4 announcement this coming Thursday at 5pm. This week we want to take a moment and reflect upon some notable accomplishments for 16.3. The workout was a simple couplet of light snatches and a complex gymnastic movement…the bar muscle up. One of the compelling things about CrossFit for those of us who do it is the endless learning and mastering of athletic movements. This desire to progress and learn new skills is what drives us to achieve things we never thought possible before starting CrossFit. Many of you had a significant taste of this with the achievement of your first bar muscle up. Here are a few athletes that did just that this week:
Sue Stein, Pete Shambrook, Kian Boloori, Scott Hughes, Joe Blackard, Derrick Phang, Alex Cesa, Erin Kerr, Phil Townsend, Kyle Kersten, Ray Chung, Ian Suttle, Brendan Foerster, Bridget Furey, and Lauren Brooks.
15 total athletes across different divisions, Masters, Scaled & Rx. Today we are going to recognize the 3 athletes that for the first time got a bar muscle up and then proceed to so for multiple reps:
Sue Stein completed 2 Full rounds for a total of 6 bar muscle up – Virus Gift Certificate
Alex Cesa completed 5 Full rounds for a total of 15 bar muscle up – Virus Gift Certificate
Brendan Foerster completed 3 Full rounds for a total of 9 bar muscle up – Pig and Pepper Gift Certificate
Well done everyone! We are stoked to see what 16.4 holds. Keep on training!
