The 2016 CrossFit Open is complete! The weekly rhythm of stress and performance anxiety will gently fade into the background of our lives as we no longer have to re-do workouts that we never wanted to do in the first place. That being said…we loved every minute of it! Friday Night Lights was awesome and 16.6 truly highlighted some of our athletes strengths 🙂 We’re glad the Open is over and we enjoyed heightened intensity to our fitting over the past five weeks. We hope you guys enjoyed it as well. Let’s get to the awards and some exciting things coming up. *16.5 – Disclaimer there are too many awesome performances and cool things that deserve recognition to note here… you would get tired of reading.
“Never Say Die Award” goes to Sharmaine Henderson and Destiny Ledesma – This award speaks for itself, you guys rocked it!
“Community Award” goes to Mojgan Schepers who not only came each Friday night to support everyone but also provided amazing food for the BBQ on Friday night! Their family restaurant, Mick’s Karma Bar, provided burgers, condiments and sides so that we could break bread together after breaking down our bodies. Thanks so much for your generosity Mojgan, we all REALLY appreciate it! The second Community award goes to Scott Hughes who manned the BBQ twice for us and brought us the now famous IPA Beer brined chicken! Thanks for changing our lives with that recipe.
And the 16.6 Championship Goes to Rory Mahony. He showed us what true athleticism and functional drinking looks like. Well done my friend!
UPCOMING! We will be going to the California Super Regionals May 13-15th in Del Mar, California to support our very own Coach Kong and Jevon Hetland as they compete once again for a spot to go to the CrossFit Games. We are so proud of you both and blessed to have you as a coach. As a team we placed 16th in the SoCal Region but unfortunately we won’t qualify as a team without Kong’s and Jevon’s scores. If you want to come down and support them Click Here to buy your tickets!
