JOEL THOMPSON - OWNER/COACH
Joel is the owner of Crossfit Tustin and has been doing Crossfit since 2006. Just out of college his love affair with Crossfit began. He and his friend used to joke about starting a Crossfit gym and how cool it would be and low and behold they were right! After playing soccer in college and getting a degree in theology, he started his entrepreneurial adventures. They did NOT all pan out, except for Crossfit Tustin. Facilitating a fitness community that daily enjoys the shared suffering of doing difficult things together is one of his deep loves. He believes Crossfit is powerful for two reasons. Crossfit is physiologically effective and it punctuates our day with friendship and the vulnerability that comes from suffering together. He’ll be doing Crossfit for the rest of his life!
ADAM SCOTCHLER - OWNER/COACH
Adam is a Certified Crossfit Trainer (CF-L3). He’s been in the fitness industry for the past 10 years and has a huge passion for helping people achieve a healthy and active lifestyle. He coaches, does personal training, and manages the gym. He loves hanging out with the members, whether that be working out with the Noon crew or simply coaching classes. When he’s not at the gym he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 kids. From a small town near Tahoe, he enjoys family time, fishing, mountains, and has eventually grown to enjoy the beach.
Jason Carroll
Jason is one of Crossfit Tustin’s full time coaches. He has a B.S. in Kinesiology from CSU Fullerton with an emphasis in Sport Studies/Strength and Conditioning. His coaching and training experience is very impressive, including 14 Years of Personal and Group Exercise in all adaptations of training including Speed, Power, Strength, Hypertrophy, and Anaerobic and Aerobic Conditioning.
His Athletic Accomplishments haven’t been terrible either.

When Jason isn’t crushing it in the gym, you’ll find him mountain
biking with his buddies, or hanging out at a brewery with his wife
and pup!
Melody Michaud
Mel followed her passion for health and fitness all the way across the country. She grew up in Maine, graduating in 2022 from the University of Southern Maine, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Athletic Coaching.
Mel completed weightlifting internships with Burgener Strength and SoCal Weightlifting. She competed at USA Weightlifting Nationals in 2022.
Mel is always striving to grow and learn both as a coach and as an athlete. At the age of 13, she started strength training. At 16, she joined CrossFit Rising Tide in Saco, Maine.
That’s where her joy and passion ignited. CrossFit helped her grow from a shy, nervous girl into a strong, self-confident woman.
Jevon Thompson - Owner/Coach
Jevon has a ton of experience in the fitness industry. She has a Masters in Kinesiology, nutrition certification from healthy steps nutrition, and many many hours of coaching experience. When she’s not doing competitive Crossfit she’s hanging out with her son Churchill and husband Joel.
TALITHA MITCHELL - COACH
Talitha is a CFL-1 trainer and Level-10 CKW (Chief Kids Wrangler) who coaches our beloved CrossFit Kids classes. She loves her family, sled pushes and especially helping kids gain confidence and body awareness through fitness. When she isn’t at the gym you can find her at the beach or poolside getting all the vitamin D with her husband and two kids.
