Level Method Retest Cycle - MAY 13th - 25th
Back in January, a lot of us took on the beefy Level Method Fitness Assessment and got a baseline to start off the year. Well now it is time to see how we've progressed.

Starting May 13th (Monday), and for the two weeks following, we will be retesting in order to see how our work has been paying off!

If you missed out on the last testing cycle, NO WORRIES. This will be your chance to create your baseline in order to assess your weaknesses and measure improvement

The last testing cycle of the year will be in September.
Memorial Day Murph - MAY 27th   (8-10am)

Hero WOD’s are made by CrossFit to honor the men and women that have fallen in the line of duty. This one is specifically to honor Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 28th, 2005.

Our tradition has always been to join in with the larger CrossFit community and host one large "Murph" workout on Memorial Day.

From beginners to elite athletes; this event is all about community. Invite your friends and bring your family. We'll have variations of the workout for every fitness level. As well as cold drinks for everyone to follow.
Fall in Love with the Problem

We hope the recent distinction in programming, between "Fitness" and "Performance", provides a little more clarity on how best to engage with the workout in a way that aligns with your goals.

Let's take this as an opportunity to revisit the "why" behind how we view our time here at the gym.

We always want our training stimulus to align with our goals. And as funny as it sounds, sometimes we have to take a second and remember exactly what our goals are.

Let's try thinking about our goals by asking ourselves, "What is the problem I am trying to solve?"

Falling in love with a problem is when you can find a juicy problem, that resonates with your values, sink your teeth in, take it head on, and show up with your best effort!

Here is a short list of common problems we like to tackle here at the gym:

- How quickly do I have to get this workout done in order to get a good score?

- What is the best thing I can do today to set up my body to feel good and move well into my later years?

Our actions, to a certain degree, are just a collective response to the problem we have decided is most important.

I would argue that identifying the problem you are most passionate about solving, is the priority. Based on that, I would go as far to say, the quality of the solution is only as good as the problem you are trying to solve.

We all have the opportunity to take on some problems that will make us truly better human beings!
HRV, the most important health stat you're not paying attention to.

Here is what a Harvard Med School Professor has to say,

"... Have you ever wondered what the health impact of a stressful day was? Will you perform well during your long run tomorrow morning? Is there anything you can do today that would improve your ability to have a better day moving forward? HRV may be the piece of data that could help you answer these questions..."

The WHOOP technology collects 5 health metrics 100x per second! One of those is HRV.
It then uses all that data to calculate the strain you accumulate throughout the day, the quality of your sleep, and then your recovery or readiness level for the next day.
